What You Need To Start Riding Lessons
Due to Covid-19 All Riders must now have their own riding hat that conforms to the current Beta standards.
The use of Body protectors are strongly advised are but not essential to begin.
Long or Short Boots with a heel are essential so your feet don't accidentally get caught in your stirrups. (Trainers are not safe and you will not be permitted to ride in them).
Suitable clothing must be worn Long trousers like leggings, breeches, or jodhpurs.
(Shorts and inner leg trouser seams can chafe.)
A fitted long or short sleeved top and no loose fitting items like scarves or hoodies that could get tangled in the horse's equipment.
Most riders also find wearing gloves more comfortable and provide better grip on the reins.
Also remember to wear layers according to the weather.
At Culleen Equestrian we offer riding lessons for complete beginners to intermediate riders
from the age of 6 upwards.
Children & Adults will learn under careful supervision
with Margaret Moran BHSAI or Emma Browne (HSI Level One Accredited Coach)
All Group Lessons are kept small with a maximum of 6 riders per lesson to ensure we can provide
a high quality of instruction and thus enable progression with our riders.
Each Horse and rider will be carefully matched to accommodate the riders ability.
All lessons take place in our large 60 x 60m all weather outdoor arena so remember to dress accordingly for our ever changing weather.
